Linspire
Philippines turns two this March 2008 and what a couple
of years it has been! Through tireless campaigns, events,
visits, forging of alliances, Linspire grew quickly
from zero user base in March 2006. Its now been distributed
to nearly 200 elementary, high schools and colleges.

to Internet Cafe Owners facing BSA raids
Linspire
sales drive has been primarily geared towards schools.
However, we are providing this Primer specially for
Internet and Gaming Cafe owners as we are getting a
lot of inquiries from this sector due to recent events.
Linspire CX is available as 10-license package and up
at SRP P29,950.00. We have limited stock left. It supports the following games: Diablo II,
Warcraft 3, Half Life, GuildWars. Linspire supports
dual-boot configurations. You are entitled to tech support
and if you prefer, you will have an hands on training
at our office using your model machine so you will have
full undertstanding of the setup. If you have one Windows
machine in the LAN, its desktop can be shown by a Linspire
computer - this solution works for Companies with applications
like Accounting that needs a Windows machine to run
- all workstations can therefore be Linspire except
one and if anyone wants to use the Accounting system,
they can simply launch a Remote Desktop softwrae (free)
on their Linspire machine.
Aside
from the games mentioned above, can Linspire also run
online games like Ran Onine, Ragnarok, MU Online? In
terms of Technology YES, but legally speaking NO.
These games use GameGuard technology which deliberately
blocks non-Microsoft Windows systems - we have the technology
to bypass but bypassing it is considered hacking even
if the code does not interfere with the payment/pre
paid system. In view of this legal impediment, Linspire
Philippines cannot and will not provide any assistance
or guide, or imply anything to that effect, on how to
enable these online games on Linspire machines. As a
supporter of Intellectual Property, that is the only
position that we can adopt.

INKS LANDMARK MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH CEAP

Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines
and Linspire Philippines
recently reached a landmark agreement to enable CEAP
member schools to experience Linspire Desktop OS first
hand. "We are glad to be able to provide our
schools with options - for years they have been asking
us for alternatives, now we have the answer"
said Fr. Roderick C. Salazar, Jr., SVD President of
CEAP. CEAP is the national association of Catholic educational
institutions in the Philippines with 1,192 member-schools.
Schools with urgent requriements are encourgaed to coordinate
with the CEAP Secretariat to prioritize your schools

products. As part of the deal, Linspire also pledged to add
support for Windows Media 10 in future releases of its distribution.
