in terms of actual direct savings and prevention of costly
purchase errors.

The
price of your Linspire license will depend primarily on the
intended use, and secondarily, on the volume. Whatever
is applicable for you, it is the same software. It is the
allowable use for the software that changes depending on your
purchase.

SAVE
BY GETTING THE RIGHT LICENSE TYPE
In
creating our pricing structure, we carefully socialized our
prices so that those who do not use the software for profit
are given much consideration. We also gave discounts to MSME
(Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises) to make the software
even more affordable.
We
do not give discounts to large Corporations. While
most software companies give discounts to large companies,
we chose to give discount to small companies instead as it
is this sector that needs the discount because they lack funds.
There are four (4) end-user License types:
1.
PERSONAL/ FAMILY LICENSE - For
personal, non-commercial use by all family members living
in one and the same residential address. This license is not
for home-based business use. If you are a home-based business,
you are a Micro Business and the approapriate license for
you is the MSME.
2A.
ACADEMIC,
CHARITY AND RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS - For
students and educational institutions recognized by DepEd
and TESDA, and organizations registered with SEC and DTI as
not-for-profit and/or religious organization.
2B.
MICRO AND SME (MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES)
- This category was formerly price different from
above. It has now been recognized as needing as much financial
assistance as Academic and NGO do. MICRO AND SME licenses
are for Use by Micro Businesses valued at less than P 3,000,000
with less than 10 employees and/or 10 computers; Small and
Medium Enterprises as defined by DTI (100 employees and/or
100 computers, and 200 employees and/or 200 computers, respectively).
99.7% of Businesses and Companies in the Philippines
are classified as MSME.
For
both 2A and 2B, pricing is as follows: Initial Linspire license
is P 2,395.00. Succeeding licenses are only P 1,395.00 each.
3.
NEW! INTERNET/ GAMING CAFES For businesses
in the Internet and Gaming industry, we offer Linspire
CX with gaming support. This offer is available on
Volume License packages only.
Pricing:
Initial 10-license pack is P 29,950.00. Succeeding10-license
packs are discounted at P 23,950.00 each.
4. LARGE
CORPORATIONS AND ENTERPRISES - All companies that
exceed any of criteria for MSME are considered Large Corporations.
Linspire XO has support for installating
selected Windows Applications directly onto a Linspire machine.
Applications in MS Office 97/2000/XP, Photoshop 6.0 7.0, Dreamweaver
MX, Quicken.

SAVE
BY BUYING THE RIGHT PACKAGES
To
further help our Customers, we made Linspire available in
convenient packages. We sell SINGLE LICENSE and VOLUME LICENSE
PACKS (5 and up). The unit price for the multiple license
packages are lower becuase multiple license packs are more
compact to ship and require less Order Processing. We then
pass on the savings to the Customer.

EXAMPLE
1: A College in the University Belt
Based has 62 computers and they want Linspire on all 62 machines.
Being aware of the 1 computer, 1 license rule, they are planning
to buy 62 SINGLE LICENSE PACKS.
P
2,395.00 x 62 = P 148,490.00
The
better way is to save by buying VOLUME LICENSES compared with
62 pieces of SINGLE-LICENSE PACK. Note that when buying VOLUME
LICENSES, you are not required to round off to the nearest
10! The Pricelist Table just shows sample computations for
1, 5, 10, and 50. You can actually compute for other volumes:

2,395.00 + 1,395.00 x 61 = P 87,490.00
They
could save P 61,000.00 by taking advantage of the discounting
on packages.
EXAMPLE
2: An Entrepreneur has 40 computers in his 2 Internet
Cafes with Gaming in Valenzuela (same name, one is
registered as Main and the other is a branch), being aware
of the savings of buying VOLUME LICENSES, they will NOT BUY
SINGLE-LICENSE PACKS. Instead, they are thinking of buying
TWO 20-LICENSE PACKS:

53,900.00 x 2 = P 107,800.00
Again,
the better way is to save by buying VOLUME LICENSES for the
quantity he needs. While the Pricelist Table just shows sample
computations for 10, 20, 30 amd 50, its easy to compute the
price for 40 licenses:

29,950.00 + P 23,950.00 x 3 = P 101,800.00
He
saves P 6,000.00. If his shop is purely Internet (no gaming),
he can save further by purchasing SME LICENSES INSTEAD OF
INTERNET/GAMING CAFE LICENSES:

2,395.00 + 1,395.00 x 39 = P 56,800.00
EXAMPLE
3: A family in Paranaque owns 2
computers - one used by the children and the other one used
by the parents - both are employees of a company. The father
brings some of the work home, and both Parents have occasional
sidelines. Is this covered by the Family License?
Yes.
P 2,395.00 x 1 = P 2,395.00
The
first computer used by children is definitely for personal
use. The other computer used by the Parents are primarily
personal use and only secondarily is it used for business
(occasional professional services). It would be different
of the Parents are, for example, Lawyers or Acountants or
Engineers practicing their profession primarily from home
and use the computer to generate the Financial Reports or
Legal Documents or Project Plans using the PC and derive their
income primarily from such source.
The
practice of a Profession (as defined by the Professional Regulatory
Commission) is considered a Business (even by DTI and Local
Government Units) wthether or not the person has a Company
name.
